Bayern ponder Mathieu swoop

Bayern Munich have shown interest in Valencia full-back Jeremy Mathieu, AS has revealed.

The Bavarians are desperate to reinforce the squad following one of the most disappointing seasons in recent history and they have already completed no less than four signings for the upcoming season.

Xherdan Shaqiri, Dante Bonfim, Tom Starke and Claudio Pizarro have all agreed to join the German giants in the summer, but the list doesn’t end there.

According to AS, Bayern Munich are set to launch an assault on Valencia full-back Jeremy Mathieu.

The Frenchman developed into a key player for los Che soon after his arrival from Toulouse and while the club chiefs would love to keep hold of their star player, they would be powerless to resist a big money offer.

Mathieu is set to sign a new deal at Mestalla, with his release clause to be lowered to €15 million, but AS believes an offer in the region of €10 million would suffice.
