Bayern rewards Muller and Badstuber

(GSM) – Bayern München’s Thomas Müller and Holger Badstuber will be rewarded for their strong breakthrough season. Technical director Christian Nerlinger said that they will both be offered new contracts soon.

The two youngsters can sign contracts that will tie them to the club until 2014. Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenige already said that they had the intention to keep the duo at the Allianz Arena.

“At Bayern, we’re very interested in keeping the young players from the academy at the club,” said Rummenigge. “This is good for the club but also for the fans who can identify themselves with the talents.”

Müller and Badstuber (both 20) can thank their coach Louis van Gaal for their succesful debut season. The attacking midfielder and defender didn’t play a single match in Bayern’s first team before this season but Van Gaal showed he had confidence in the duo.

So far, Badstuber was a starter in twenty league matches while Müller started sixteen league matches.
