Bayern send defender Gorlitz out on loan

Reigning Bundesliga champions FC Bayern have loaned out right back Andreas Gorlitz to second division outfit Ingolstadt. Ingolstadt, based in Bavaria, won promotion from the German third division last season.

Gorlitz started his professional career with 1860 Munich and was with them till 2004 before joining FC Bayern. However an injury in a Champions League clash against Juventus saw him sidelined for the next two years, significantly affecting his Bayern career. He was later demoted to the reserve squad. Gorlitz also played the 2007-08 and 08-09 seasons on loan at Karlsruhe.

Gorlitz has been capped twice for the German national team, but has not played for Die Mannschaft in the last six years.

Can’t be out on loan from FC Bayern since they allowed his contract to expire. Appears to be an outright signing of a free-agent.
