Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer says his side’s 2-1 Bundesliga loss to Hannover on Sunday has not dented the Bavarians’ confidence.

Bayern lost their league opener against Borussia Monchengladbach before going on a run of eight domestic games without losing or conceding a goal.

Nevertheless, their hot streak came to an abrupt end on Sunday as Hannover proved too strong for the Champions League hopefuls.

But Neuer revealed that Bayern remain confident and are desperate to set off on another winning run.

“Overall, it was a very unlucky defeat, but we’re very stable. We have a lot of international players in the squad, and we know what we’re capable of,” Neuer told the Bayern website.

“We won’t drive ourselves mad. We still believe in ourselves and we’ll set off on a new run, starting with the DFB Pokal game against Ingolstadt and then on Saturday in the league against Nuremberg.”

Bayern host 2. Bundesliga side Ingolstadt on Wednesday in the second round of the DFB Pokal.
