Bayern suffer Olic setback

(GSM) – Bayern München striker Ivica Olic has been added to the club’s ever-increasing injury list with news suggesting that he could miss the rest of the campaign.

The 31-year-old has had a troublesome season with a nagging knee injury and it now seems a surgery is final solution opted to repair the damaged cartilage and meniscus.

The Croatia international is scheduled to be operated on in the United States this week, with a possible six-month rehabilitation period.

Despite the problems, Olic managed six league and two Champions League outings.

The forward, who was a key man in Bayern’s domestic double win and run to the UEFA Champions League final last term, said: “Of course I am disappointed. I had hoped I would be able to continue where I have left off last year. I had wanted to do so much.”
