(GSM) – Bayern Munich has offered Franck Ribery a choice: the French midfielder can either extend his contract at Bayern or leave the club next summer. Ribery’s contract at Bayern expires in 2011.

“If Ribery doesn’t renew his deal in the spring, it would be fiscally irresponsible to keep him, as he’s out of contract in 2011,” Bayern’s chairman Uli Hoeness told the Muencher Abendzeitung.

“We’d just be giving away €50-60 million in that case.”

Ribery joined Bayern from Marseille in June 2007 and has seen his reputation blossom during his time in Germany. Clubs ranging from Chelsea to Real Madrid have been linked with the French international of late.
