Asmir Begovic has cooled talk that he could leave Stoke, saying he remains focused on keeping the club in the Premier League.

The Bosnian international has been linked with a move away from the Britannia Stadium, with Chelsea and Arsenal mooted as possible destinations for the 25-year-old shot-stopper.

However, Begovic was quick to stress that he is happy at Stoke and is not thinking about leaving.

He told reporters: “Of course I’m happy, how couldn’t I be? When you play so many games in one of the best leagues in the world that gives you a great feeling.

“I’m not thinking a lot about speculation. I have a lot of work to do at Stoke City. We have to stay in the league.

“But I’m not running away from it, everybody is happy when he is linked with such clubs as Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool – I’m glad my name is mentioned in these stories, because this is the proof that I’m doing well.

“We will see what will happen at the end of the season. But for now the most important thing for us is survival.”
