Belfodil wants Inter move; Eikrem nears Heerenveen switch

Parma F.C. striker Ishak Belfodil has talked up a potential move to Inter Milan.

Parma F.C. striker Ishak Belfodil has talked up a potential move to Internazionale amid ongoing speculation linking the former France Under-20 international with a summer exit from the Stadio Ennio Tardini, Sky Sports understands.

Belfodil, 21, is reportedly attracting interest from a number of European clubs, including the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, after tallying eight goals and four assists in 33 Serie A appearances for the Gialloblù last season.

Earlier this week, F.C. Internazionale Milano president Massimo Moratti confirmed the club are in talks with Parma regarding a swap deal for Belfodil involving Antonio Cassano and Matias Silvestre.

“I think there are still negotiations going on, so we’ll see if this matter is finalised. It’s clear that if we do sign Belfodil, it’s because we think he’s a strong player,” said Moratti.

“Will Cassano go to Parma? We’ll see, we are completing this matter. Silvestre could also be involved, yes. It would help him to play consistently, but I don’t want to be drawn on the matter until it has been finalised.”

In addition, Belfodil’s agent George Atangana has revealed the 21-year-old ace wants to play his international football with Algeria despite having previously represented France at the Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 levels.

Regarding the speculation linking him with a summer move to the San Siro, Belfodil told fcinternews.it: “Right now I’m on holiday in Dubai and in a couple of days I’ll be back in Italy.

“I told my agent to call only when there is something real and true, and I still have not received any communication.

“Parma and Inter are dealing with it, everyone knows that. Inter are a great club and, although they had a poor season, they have a great history. Who would not like to play for them?”

Eikrem nears Heerenveen switch

Molde FK midfielder Magnus Wolff Eikrem, formerly of Manchester United, is on the verge of completing a move to Dutch Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen, who are currently managed by Dutch football icon Marco van Basten, according to Sky Sports.

Over the weekend, Eikrem, 22, traveled to Holland to negotiate personal terms with Heerenveen after an initial transfer fee was agreed with the Tippeligaen champions.

The 22-year-old Norway international will undergo a medical at the club this week before the deal is finalised when the transfer window reopens on 1 July.

“It’s to check the conditions and to see how things are there.” said Eikrem. “Honestly, I don’t know very much. I have tried to focus on the match [against Valerenga on Saturday], but it’s difficult when you know that the clubs have reached an agreement.

“There is a strong desire from the coach [Van Basten] that I should go down there.

“It is tremendously important that it is the coach who wants me and not the sports director or something.”

Eikrem, who left Manchester United for Molde in January 2011, has bagged two goals in 13 league appearances for MFK this season.
