Lokeren held Genk to a goalless draw in their Belgian First Division championship playoff clash on Saturday.

Genk were hoping to close the gap on leaders Zulte-Waregem to two points, while Lokeren were looking to carry on from their 4-1 demolition of Standard Liege.

But neither side could find the back of the net at Daknamstadion, meaning the points were shared between the two clubs for the first time since 2010.

Elsewhere, playoff II Group A leaders Gent maintained their four-point lead atop of the standings with a narrow 1-0 victory over Kortrijk.

Ilombe Mboyo’s 76th-minute goal proved the difference as Gent maintained their unbeaten streak in the playoffs.

Mons also tasted victory in Group A, accounting for Lierse 1-0 courtesy of Mustapha Jarju’s first-half strike.

In other results on Saturday, Sporting Charleroi played out a scoreless stalemate with OH Leuven in Group B action.

The draw was enough for Charleroi to remain top, despite being level on points with Leuven and Mechelen, who defeated Waasland-Beveren 2-0.
