Lokeren have cemented their place in the European places after thrashing OH Leuven 6-2 in the Belgian Pro League on Saturday.
In an entertaining affair, Hassan Mokulu Tembe scored two first-half goals to send the away side into halftime 2-0 up.
Although OH Leuven drew level after both Azevedo and Karel Geraerts found the back of the net, Lokeren dominated the home side in the final twenty minutes.
Ivan Leko got Lokeren back in front after 71 minutes before Tembe completed his hat-trick eight minutes later.
Koen Persoons put the result beyond doubt soon after before an injury time goal to Ayanda Patosi added the final touch to the emphatic win.
Lokeren now sit in third place on the table, nine points behind league leaders Anderlecht who have a game in hand.
Meanwhile, Genk recorded an important 3-1 win over Sporting Charleroi at the Cristal Arena.
An Elyaniv Barda penalty got the ball rolling for Genk in the 27th minute with Jelle Vossen doubling the home side’s advantage just after halftime.
Onur Kaya got Charleroi back into the game six minutes later but the away side could not find an equaliser with Glynor Plet sealing the win for Genk in the final minute of the game.
Mario Breen’s side are now level on points with fourth-placed Standard Liege after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Gent.
Elsewhere, Kortrijk thrashed Beerschot 4-0 with Mustapha Oussalah scoring a first-half double, Mechelen scraped past Mons 3-2 while Lierse and Waasland-Beveren played out a 0-0 draw.
