Belgium will finally get their World Cup campaign started this afternoon against the less-fancied Algeria. Belgium will be boasting the likes of Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea), Vincent Kompany (Man City), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) in their starting lineup.
Algeria do have some recognisable faces in their team, with Nabil Bentaleb (Tottenham), Sofiane Feghouli (Valencia) and Madjid Bougherra (formerly of Rangers) potentially starting.
But with their task being virtually impossible this afternoon, Bet 365 are giving odds of 4/11 for de Rode Duivels to get all three points in their first World Cup game. Belgium went through their World Cup qualifying group unbeaten, while winning their last three games in a row.
It’s been a long time since Belgium have made a major international tournament, despite the strength of their squad, but under Marc Wilmots they’re now realising their potential as one of the outside favourites to win the World Cup.
