Wales striker Craig Bellamy has withdrawn from the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Russia as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
Bellamy, 29, scored after coming on as a substitute during Saturday's 4-1 win over Blackburn, but is still not fit enough for international action.
The former Liverpool star managed only a handful of appearances last season because of injury and missed the start of the current campaign with the hamstring problem.
A statement from the Football Association of Wales read: “After discussions between the managers, John Toshack and Alan Curbishley, of West Ham, and the player Craig Bellamy, it has been mutually agreed that in the interests of all parties, the player will continue his rehabilitation plan at his club.”
