Portuguese giants Benfica are weighing up move for Juventus midfielder Hernanes, according to Tuttosport.

The Eagles are not exactly spoilt for options in the middle of the park and they have now rekindled their interest in the Brazilian footballer.

Hernanes hasn’t quite managed to prove his worth since joining Juventus from Lazio and there is a good chance he will be offloaded in the near future.

Namely, the Bianconeri are believed to have already agreed to sign Axel Witsel, while few other midfielders are expected to arrive, and odds are they will be prepared to entertain offers for the 31-year-old.

Hernanes had impressed playing for Lazio in Italian Serie A, scoring 33 goals in 118 league outings, but he has only managed one goal in 22 league appearances for Juventus.

A couple of months ago, the midfielder admitted his performances in Turin had not been up to standard, but vowed to improve in the future.
