Benfica find Coentrao replacement

Benfica are on the verge of completing the transfer of Lille full-back Emerson, according to A Bola.

The Eagles have been on the look out for a left-back after selling Fabio Coentrao to Real Madrid and they seem to have found a perfect replacement.

Coach Jorge Jesus have been tracking the Lille defender for quite a while and he believes the Brazilian would be a great asset to the squad.

Benfica are already in talks with the French club, who reportedly want €2.5 million for the 25-year-old.

The Eagles could face a stiff competition for the player’s signature from Bayern Munich, who are also keen.

Emerson’s contract with Lille expires in June 2012 and les Gones are looking to cash in on the defender this summer.
