Benfica keen on Marc Kempf

Portuguese giants Benfica are hot on the trail of Freiburg defender Marc Kempf, according to A Bola.

The Eagles are somewhat short of quality options in the heart of defence and with club icon Luisao nearing the end of his playing career, head coach Rui Vitoria plans to address the issue in January,

A Bola claims that Benfica have set their sights on Freiburg centre-back Marc Kempf, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old already has 63 senior league appearances to his name, scoring impressive 7 goals in the process.

Despite his fragile age, Kempf is already used to winning silverware, having won the European Championships with Germany at Under-19 and Under-21 levels.
