Portuguese media outlet A Bola claims that Benfica have reached an agreement to sign Sporting Braga hotshot Rafa Silva.

Their league rivals FC Porto were close to securing the services of the Portugal international, but the deal eventually failed to materialise.

And A Bola now reports that Sporting Braga have accepted the latest offer from Benfica, giving permission to the attacking midfielder to negotiate personal terms with the Eagles.

The Estadio da Luz outfit will pay around €15 million for 90% of the player’s rights, while Mehdi Carcela and Oscar Benitez will join Braga on season-long loans as part of the deal.

Rafa Silva is expected to undergo a medical in Lisbon during the day before signing a long-term deal with the Eagles.

The 23-year-old footballer has spent last three years with Os Minhotos, making 88 Primeira Liga appearances for the club and scoring 13 goals.
