Portuguese giants SL Benfica have made a deal with one of Europe’s hottest talents, the 17-year-old Croatia defender Branimir Kalaica.

The Portuguese media outlet Record have revealed that Kalaica has accepted Benfica’s proposal and is set to join the Eagles during the summer transfer window when the player will turn 18.

Kalaica has been identified as the investment for the future and the ideal long-term replacement for Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Ezequiel Lopez, who could even be on the move during the summer transfer window.

The 17-year-old defender has already been targeted by the host of English and German clubs, but has decided to continue his career with Benfica as he is convinced that Portuguese club would be ideal surroundings where he can make further progress and improve his career.

Branimir Kalaica is Dinamo Zagreb’s youth product who rejected a new deal with the Croatian outfit during winter, when he was frozen out of the first team by head coach Zoran Mamic.
