Napoli manager Rafael Benitez was happy to secure a win in his first game in charge of the club against FeralpiSalo on Saturday.

The Spaniard enjoyed a 5-1 success over the Lega Pro Prima Divisione side thanks to goals from Davide Bariti, Blerim Dzemaili and Soma Novothny as well as an Emanuele Calaio brace.

Benitez is pleased to get his tenure at the club under way with a victory, specifically praising the tempo at which his side played.

“It is a positive debut in our first pre-season friendly,” he told the club’s official website.

“We did what we wanted to on the field, those things that we practiced during the week in training.”

“In general we did good things and others that we can still improve on. We’re happy to have scored five goals and played with intensity after a week of double training sessions.”

Calaio’s double along with goals from Bariti and Dzemaili put the Serie A side 4-0 up at half-time in the friendly fixture.

Alex Pinardi pulled a goal back for the visitors four minutes into the second half before Novothny scored two minutes from time.
