talkSPORT is today reporting that Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke will only consider a move away from the club if they are relegated to the Championship this season.
The Villains are currently in a battle to stay in the English Premier League and Benteke has been the subject of a lot of speculation throughout the campaign as he has got himself 13 goals in the top flight so far.
However, the Belgium international feels as though there is a lot for him still to work on and guaranteed first-team football at Villa is best for him over the next year or so – as long as they remain in the Premier League.
Benteke is likely to attract a lot of interest in the summer, regardless of Villa’s league status as he has proven to be one of the buys of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the ex-Genk man and if they did come in for him, it would be tough for the striker to say no.
But, at this stage, he seems to be focused on keeping Aston Villa in the Premier League and if he manages to do that, he could be at Villa Park for a few years to come.
