The France international has only started two of Real’s five La Liga matches so
far, but the striker said he was working hard to push for a regular berth in
the squad.
“Is it necessary for a striker to score goals for the season to go well? I
felt very well in recent games,” Benzema told AS.
“I feel that I’m making progress and my legs are getting better. I’m very
happy. Admittedly, I was happy to play 90 minutes twice with France (against
Finland and Belarus).
“It is important to play several games in a row. Besides, I’m working hard
to get ready.
“I’ve never lost confidence. I’ve always been sure of myself and my game.
When you don’t score, the environment tries to contaminate you, but that does
not affect me.
“I’m a striker and I love to score, but everybody knows that I (also)
enjoy it when I can give assists.”
