Bernd Leno on Real Madrid radar; Miranda linked with Old Trafford switch

hot-transfer-newsBernd Leno on Real Madrid radar

Real Madrid are keeping close tabs on Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno, Marca can reveal.

Los Blancos are watching at a number of high-profile shot-stoppers as Iker Casillas’ spell at Santiago Bernabeu draws to a close.

Real Madrid scouts have been keeping a close eye on Germany starlet Bernd Leno of late, and they have been impressed with the 23-year-old footballer.

Los Blancos could turn towards the talented goalkeeper in case they fail to lure primary target David De Gea to Santiago Bernabeu.

And with Leno now in his fourth season at Bayer Leverkusen, the Germany international may be interested in a change of scenery.

The highly rated footballer joined die Werkself from Stuttgart in the summer of 2011 and has since made 125 Bundesliga appearances, while featuring in 26 Champions League games.

Miranda linked with Old Trafford switch

Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda is being heavily linked with a summer switch to Manchester United, AS has suggested.

The Red Devils had an official proposal rejected for the Brazilian centre-back a year ago, but they seem ready to rekindle their interest in the summer.

And while Atletico Madrid had no plans to cash in on Miranda last summer, they are prepared to sell the experienced defender at the end of the season.

Namely, the 30-year-old has just over a year left on his current deal and with Jose Maria Gimenez in excellent form this season, he would not be sorely missed.

As a result, Manchester United are widely expected to come forward with an official bid in the coming months and try to wrap up the deal at a reasonable price.

Miranda has enjoyed a great deal of success since joining the club from Sao Paulo, lifting La Liga, Copa del Rey and Europa League trophies with los Colchoneros.

Benfica stopper in high demand

A host of Europe’s top clubs are casting admiring glances towards Benfica defender Jardel, according to Record.

The 29-year-old has finally established himself as a first team regular at Estadio da Luz and he quickly paid coach Jorge Jesus back with some impressive performances.

Jardel has done so well that he managed to catch the eye of top European clubs, who are now vying for his signature.

Record has learned that the likes of Borussia M’gladbach, Lazio and Lyon are all showing interest, meaning there is a chance the experienced defender will be leaving the Eagles in the summer.

Jardel joined Benfica back in January 2011 from Olhanense, but it took him quite a while to become an undisputed starter.

This has been his most successful campaign since arriving at the club, with the Brazilian starting 23 league fixtures and scoring 3 goals.
