Big Sam happy with Salgado

(GSM) – Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce believes Michel Salgado is “leading by example”. Allardyce says that Salgado is now settled in the Premier League and has been “outstanding” since December.

The Spaniard signed for Blackburn last summer after being deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid. Many thought the Spanish full-back had lost his legs, but Big Sam is now proud of his acquisition.

“He is out there leading by example,” said Allardyce.

“Our young lads are playing well for us but Michel is doing more than his bit and his experience has proved invaluable.

“He has come to terms with what it takes to play in the Premier League and, since December, has been outstanding.

“There is not a fitter lad about, that’s what I like about him.”
