Blanc helps erase the memory of Raymond Domenech

Last night’s victory over Brazil showed that France have gone a long way under Laurent Blanc, proving Raymond Domenech was indeed the main problem.

Few online betting experts would have dared to predict les Bleus would be able to beat England and Brazil just few months following the disappointing exit from the World Cup, but Laurent Blanc has made all that possible.

His decision to omit every single player that traveled to South Africa for his first game in charge against Norway showed the former Manchester United defender is not afraid to stand behind his actions, although certain doubts arose when his refurbished side lost their opening game in the Euro 2012 qualifiers to Belarus.

Nonetheless, Blanc’s decision to stick with extremely talented but very inexperienced players, such as Adil Rami, Yann M’Vila, Loic Remy and Kevin Gamiero soon paid off with les Blues winning next three qualifiers, before beating England and Brazil in warm-up games.

Laurent Blanc had his vision of the national team and didn’t want to change it even when his key players Karim Benzema and Yoann Gourcuff were completely out of form, with his brave decision to start both of them against Brazil proving the match winner last night.

Hernanes’ sending off just before the half-time break made everything a lot easier for les Bleus, but it was Benzema and Gourcuff who stole the show, proving they are France’s best players on their day.

In just few months’ time, Blanc helped France return to the top of European football and almost erased the memory of team’s dismal showings in South Africa, which is something nobody believed was possible following everything that French national team went through last summer.

After quite a while France have a coach with vision and the one who is not afraid to follow through his own ideas, and with so many talented youngsters already integrated into the squad, les Bleus definitely have a bright future under Laurent Blanc.
