Blanc rejects Diego link

Juventus managing director Jean-Claude Blanc has denied that there have been talks with Werder Bremen midfielder Diego.

Reports have suggested that the Old Lady will make a fresh bid for the midfield star in the January transfer window, but Blanc has played down the rumours.

“There is nothing going on with Diego right now,” Blanc insisted.

“The news that the player is set to move to Juventus is just the result of some brilliant work from agents.

“At the moment the market is closed and we are still weighing up whether there is a need to intervene or not.

“Our priority is to recover the many injured players and to allow Claudio Ranieri to work with a full-strength squad at his disposal.”
