Bordeaux close in on Diego Rolan

French newspaper Sud Ouest is reporting that Defensor Sporting forward is nearing a switch to Bordeaux.

Les Girondins chief Alain Deveseleer is currently in Argentina, negotiating with the player’s club and he is expected to close the deal in the coming days.

The Ligue 1 side are in need of attacking reinforcements after star striker Yoan Gouffran  sealed a switch to Newcastle earlier this month.

Les Girondins look set to pip the likes of Lazio, Manchester United and Arsenal to the player’s signature.

Diego Alejandro Rolan Silva is a right winger who can also operate as a centre forward and he has been in outstanding form this season.

After scoring 8 goals in 15 league appearances for Defensor Sporting, the 19-year-old was called to Uruguay squad for the Under-20 South American Championship in Argentina, where he has scored four goals in six appearances.

Having seen the player in action in Argentina, Bordeaux chiefs decided to act and they seem to have secured the signing of one of the most talented attackers in South America.
