Botafogo are reportedly poised to complete the signing of AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf.
The proposed deal looked set to go through last month but the talks broke down and the Netherlands international recently refused to rule out the prospect of signing a new deal with the Serie A side.
However, Goal.com has learned that one of Seedorf’s representatives arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday and is currently in talks with Botafogo president Mauricio Assumpcao.
Lancenet is also reporting that a source close to the club is confident that the free transfer will go through before the end of the week.
Seedorf, 37, joined Milan from city rivals Inter in 2002, but featured only sporadically for the the club this season and even admitted having a dressing-room bust-up with coach Massimiliano Allegri towards the tail end of the campaign.
