Botafogo president Mauricio Assumpcao has confirmed the club have rejected a 4.5-million euro offer from Juventus for defender Doria.
The 18-year-old has made 17 appearances in the Brazil Serie A this season, scoring one goal to catch the eye of several clubs.
Assumpcao believes his side can demand a higher transfer fee for Doria, with Juve interested in his services.
“For 4.5 million euros, he won’t leave. We’ve already said no to that,” he told Radio Globo.
“But I don’t know – the transfer market is crazy. There are players out there being sold for 100 million euros.”
Botafogo sit fifth in Brazil Serie A, 23 points behind runaway leaders Fluminense.
