Egypt coach Bob Bradley is certain the team are set to break a 24-year-old FIFA World Cup jinx by qualifying for Brazil 2014.

The Pharaohs beat Guinea 3-2 in Conakry on Sunday to top Group G of African 2014 World Cup qualifying.

Former United States coach Bradley told a local TV network his charges are capable of booking their place in the FIFA showcase in two years time.

“Now Egyptians are supposed to believe that they can qualify for the World Cup,” he said.

“It’s a reality. We are putting in a lot of effort into achieving this long term dream.”

With World Cup qualifiers not resuming until March next year, Egypt turn their focus now to a 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic on Sunday.

“Now we have to change our thoughts from thinking of the World Cup to thinking of the 2013 AFCON,” Bradley said.

Egypt’s last FIFA World Cup appearance came at the 1990 tournament in Italy.
