Werder Bremen are dreaming of a return to the UEFA Champions League after a 5-1 win against FC Schalke 04 took them above their opponents and into second place in the Bundesliga. Coach Thomas Schaaf said “This victory against fellow European challengers shows that little by little we have regained our best form and we are on our way.”
Midfielder Torsten Frings added: “This is three points more towards our goal of qualifying for the Champions League and we just need to keep on working.”
