Bruce confirmed as new Sunderland boss

Steve Bruce was confirmed on Wednesday as the new manager of Sunderland after the successful conclusion of negotiations on the terms of his contract.

The 48-year-old former Wigan boss has signed a three-year contract and was due to address a press conference later in the day.
