Bruce wants new deal for Grealish

In a pre-match press conference, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has indicated that he wants to tie Jack Grealish down to a long-term deal. The 22-year-old has continued his fine form for the Midlands club since the start of the season, despite all of the distractions he’s faced with the constant speculation regarding a possible move to Tottenham Hotspur throughout the summer.

Bruce still wants to bring in a few more new faces on loan, but the priority seems to be locking Grealish into a long-term contract. Whilst there’s a good chance that he may end up leaving the club in a year or two anyway, at least Villa will be able to secure some good money off of the Englishman.

After a rocky summer behind the scenes, it seems as if the club is getting back on track, with two Championship victories and one League Cup win to start off the season.
