Bryan Cristante linked with Serie A return

Benfica midfielder Bryan Cristante could be returning to Italian Serie A in the winter, according to Sky Sport Italia.

AC Milan officials surprised everyone when they decided to cash in on one of their hottest prospects over a year ago, and a switch to Estadio da Luz did not prove to be good for the player either.

Cristante has largely struggled for playing time in Portugal, starting just one league game and making another four substitute appearances.

As a result, the 20-year-old is almost certain to return to Italy in the near future, given that he still has a long list of admirers in his native country.

Sky Sport Italia has suggested that Sassuolo plan to sign the talented footballer on an 18-month loan in January, but Neroverdi could face stiff competition from the likes of Juventus, Napoli, Inter Milan and Torino, who are all believed to be keen on Cristante.
