Bryan Ruiz on Sporting radar

Portuguese media outlet A Bola is reporting that Sporting Lisbon are readying summer bid for Fulham forward Bryan Ruiz.

The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the Championship side and he is almost certain to leave Craven Cottage for greener pastures at the end of the season.

According to the latest reports, Sporting Lisbon are eager to lure the Costa Rican to Estadio Jose Alvalade and are currently in the process of drafting a contract offer.

And while Ruiz’s salary would normally prove too much for the Lions, the fact he is available on a free transfer means they have plenty of room for negotiations.

The Costa Rica star returned to Fulham after impressing while on loan with PSV Eindhoven, while also enjoying very successful 2014 World Cup finals.

Ruiz is widely expected to return to the big stage next summer, but it remains to be seen whether he will be tempted by the offer from Portugal.
