Bayer Leverkusen defender Daniel Carvajal believes the Bundesliga is much faster than La Liga, but insists he is settled in Germany.
The 21-year-old joined Bayer from Real Madrid at the start of the 2012/13 campaign and is pleased with the way he has adapted to his new surroundings.
“The rhythm of the game is different here. In Germany it’s a lot faster, whereas in Spain the tempo is slower and more about possession,” Carvajal told the Bundesliga website.
“The longer I’m here the more settled and at ease I feel.”
Carvajal has developed into a key player at Leverkusen since joining, and he has no regrets over his move to the Bundesliga.
“Leverkusen showed a lot of interest in me. They told me I’d play in the first team and that I was their first choice,” the right-back said.
“I think I made the right decision. We’re second in the table, we’re doing well in the Europa League and I’m playing a lot, which is what I need to keep developing as a player.”
The defender has made 17 Bundesliga appearances so far.
