Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg both missed the chance to clear away from the Bundesliga relegation zone after playing out a 1-1 draw.

Wolfsburg moved ahead of St Pauli and into the relegation playoff zone while four points clear are Frankfurt, who sit in 13th.

Alexander Meier opened the scoring for Frankfurt in the 56th minute before Wolfsburg were reduced to 10 men when Arne Friedrich received two bookings in the space of nine minutes.

But against the odds, Wolfsburg substitute Mario Mandzukic leveled the scores five minutes before full-time.

Cologne continued their hot and cold form with a late 1-0 win over Nuremberg.

For the last five games, Cologne have gone win-loss but a 92nd-minute winner from Milivoje Novakovic saw them get a positive result this time out.

The loss leaves sixth-placed Nuremberg sitting in the final Europa League spot with a number of teams in the chasing pack.
