Burnley 3/1 to beat Chelsea in Wednesdays Premier League matchup

Competition: Premier League

Market: Burnley to beat Chelsea

Odds: 3/1 @ Bet365

Chelsea are on the road again on Thursday night as Antonio Conte’s newly-deposed Premier League champions travel to high-flying Burnley.

While Pep Guardiola may win manager of the season, their is no doubting that Burnley boss Sean Dyche will finish a close second after turning his Claret’s into the Premier League surprise package this season. Coming off the back of a hard-fought 2-1 win against Leicester last time out, Burnley are now on a  five-match winning run and appear to be cruising towards bringing Europa League football to Turf Moor for the first time in the clubs history. Along with holding the third best defensive record in the Premier League this year, with only the two Manchester clubs ahead of them, Burnley have also shown some lethal form in the final third. Forward Ashley Barnes has four in his last six and Burnley have now scored two or more goals in their last five consecutive outings.

As for the Premier League’s now former champions, it has been a torrid year for the Blues and with their top four dreams appearing to be fading by the week, it seems more than likely that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will be fired at the end of the season. While they will thank Olivier Giroud for saving their blushes against a struggling Southampton side on Saturday afternoon, Chelsea were 2-0 down and now have two Premier League wins in their last six outings. The Blues will also be more than aware of what Burnley are capable of, on the opening game of this years season Burnley shockingly put three past Chelsea and came away with a 3-2 win.
