Burnley eye Adam bid

Newly promoted Burnley are eyeing a move for Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam, according to the Mail Online.

The Clarets are preparing for their first season back in the top-flight after securing promotion at the first time of asking, clinching the Championship title along the way.

Adam has been at the Britannia Stadium for the past four seasons having signed from Liverpool in the summer of 2012.

In total, he has racked up one hundred and twenty-three appearances for the Potters in all competitions, scoring nineteen goals.

The thirty year old has also played for Blackpool, having began his career in his native Scotland with Rangers while he has had loan spells with Ross County and St Mirren.

Internationally , he has twenty-six senior caps for his country but is yet to score.

Should the move materialise, it would fill the void left by Joey Barton, who signed for Rangers earlier this month.
