Turkish Super Lig side Bursaspor have confirmed the signings of Sebastien Frey and Renato Civelli from Genoa and Nice respectively.

Former France international goalkeeper Frey, who makes the move from Serie A on a three-year deal, was a regular at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris last season, making 36 appearances.

The 33-year-old began his career with Cannes before making the move to Italy in 1998 where he spent the next 15 years representing Inter, Verona, Parma, Fiorentina and Genoa.

Hikmet Karaman’s side have further strengthened their backline with Argentine defender Civelli who joins on a two-year contract

The 29-year-old showed his versatility as he scored six goals for the side in all competitions last season, as they finished fourth in the French top flight, securing UEFA Europa League football in the process.

The Turkish side have already begun their pre-season preparations having played four friendlies with the latest ending in a 4-1 loss to UEFA Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.

Frey and Civelli’s arrivals mark their fourth and fifth forays into the transfer market as they prepare for a campaign that will see them feature in the Champions League qualifying phase.
