Brazil legend Cafu said he is a big fan of Francesco Totti and issued a glowing tribute to his work for Roma and the Italian national side.

Cafu played alongside Totti during his six years with the Giallorossi and labelled the forward as the perfect colleague.

“Totti is always strong and as a Roman he fights for the team,” he told reporters at a Champions League trophy tour in Rome on Friday.

“He makes you feel great, and was a fantastic team-mate. He has done a lot of brilliant things for Roma and for the Italian national team. I have always rooted for him.”

When asked about coach Zdenek Zeman, who Cafu played under during the 65-year-old’s first stint at the Stadio Olimpico in the late 1990’s, he had only positive recollections.

“I have some beautiful memories of Zeman,” he added.

“We did not win the championship, but we played well and got some great results. I’m sure Zeman will find the right way to adapt this team to his style of play.”
