Cairo believes Novellino is right for Torino

Torino President Urbano Cairo believes Walter Novellino can be a success at the club in his second spell at the Granata bench.

Novellino was sacked in April 2008 but has remained under contract with Torino.

“Novellino is a Coach who has always given his all for the club,” Cairo stated in the Corriere dello Sport.

“He is the right man for the job here at Torino and so he deserves a second chance.

“He has proven in the past that he is a quality tactician and he knows how to do well.

“Novellino had his problems last year, but to be fair he had a team that perhaps wasn’t suited to his 4-4-2 formation.

“I’m disappointed to see De Biasi leave. But with 15 matches played and 12 points picked up I had no choice.”
