Former Juventus midfielder Mauro Camoranesi believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be an excellent signing for the Serie A leaders.

Reports have suggested Ibrahimovic is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain, the club he joined in July 2012, with Juventus among a number of clubs said to be interested in acquiring the 31-year-old for next season.

The Swede spent two years with the Turin outfit but left in 2006 after the club’s relegation to Serie B following the Calciopoli match-fixing scandal. However, Camoranesi does not feel that will be a factor in any decision to bring Ibrahimovic back to the club.

He told Tuttosport: “He is a champion and what happened in 2006 has nothing to do with it, that is part of the past.

“I, personally, wouldn’t be unhappy if he returned because it would be easier for Juventus to get to the top in Europe with him.

“His quality has always impressed me. He’s big and tall, but he’s a monster technically. Technique is what always makes the difference.

“I’m only speaking for myself though. I don’t know what people like Gigi Buffon or Giorgio Chiellini, would think about it. I also don’t know whether he is the type of player that the club is looking for.”
