Sevilla youngster Jose Campana is on the verge of signing for Crystal Palace, according to the Liga club’s president.
After breaking into the Sevilla side in the 2011-12 campaign, campana saw his season wrecked by a metatarsal injury last year, although he remains very highly rated at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
And Jose Maria del Nido has lamented the expected departure of the Spain Under-20 international, who has rejected an offer of a new deal from the Andalusian side.
Del Nido told Sevilla’s official website: “We made an offer (of a new contract) and he did not accept it. He wants to go.
“We accepted that his agent would put him on the market and reached an agreement with Crystal Palace for two million plus add-ons.
“He will now agree terms today (Monday) and travel to the UK tomorrow to pass a medical.
“I try to be objective as a president. A member of the squad has been offered a renewal and rejected it, and his offer from England is best for all three parties.
“Campana was going to be a star (at Sevilla) but unfortunately it has not turned out that way. We have done everything we can to make it happen. What more can we do?”
