It’s gone unknown by many, but Liverpool’s top scorer Luis Suarez has gone without scoring in his last four games. The former Ajax man has only netted once in his previous eight games in all competitions, but is being backed by Ladbrokes at 6/5 to finally end his drought at anytime against the Saints.

Scoring 23 goals in 22 games has seen the Uruguayan’s stock greatly rise as Liverpool have mounted a title challenge in the business end of the current season. Champions League football looks nailed on for Brendan Rodgers’ men, and providing Suarez can get back among the goals, Liverpool will end the season as well as they’d started it.

Making four assists in his last five league games shows the 27-year old is still contributing for the Reds on the pitch, and having the scoring burden solely on strike-partner Daniel Sturridge fortunately hasn’t harmed the side’s form.

As Rodgers has had to utilise Suarez in a wider format to accompany other players in the side, it’s clearly having an adverse effect on his scoring prowess.

Southampton are a side the striker has failed to score against this season, and considering Liverpool lost 1-0 the last time they both met, they will be itching to get revenge – Suarez most especially as he looks to end his goal drought.
