Course it was never a secret that Perez wanted Ronaldo at the Bernabeu, starting in June, and now he gets his wish. Still Fergie said he wouldnt sell a virus to that mob, so why did he sell Ronaldo?
Im guessing he decided United could do with the money moneybags Real Madrid had.....

And that would be a pretty good relationship, but a shaky one too, if ManU ever refuses to hand over a player Real Madrid wants.

Sorry for goin off topic.
I dont usually focus on the finanacial stuff, but both owners probably think that was a good deal.
I think that ManU and RealM will always be two beans in a pod, especially after this transfer saga. Man U provides the players and Real the moolah. ;)

Just to stay focused on the topic here...

On a business level, I think Man U and Real have more than made up for their troubles......12m invested and 68m profit in Man U's pocket....Real can finally pimp Ronaldo for 50% of his image rights (plus win a few more games, sell-out tickets and jersey's etc.). Both of these teams are heavily burdened with debt and this deal has benefited both clubs significantly in terms of the finances and growth of the club.

I think the standard has now been set between the two teams and they both know how to play together...on a personal level I think it would burn anyone to have their prize taken from them, but Real sweetened the deal as much as they could to make it easier to swallow for Man U.

I'm sure the owners are looking back saying that was a tough ordeal, but they are now very happy with the outcome.

Apology accepted, CFC Fan.
If Ronaldo does well in the new season, then i doubt it will really take 2 or 3 years to bring Real back to when it absolutely dominated back in the 60s and 70s. It might happen instantly.
If Ronaldo doesnt do as well as he hoped and as we footie fans thought, than he should either return to ManU or move to.......... I dont know...... well, MLS would be a pretty good choice, but he might jes turn into the Portuguese version of Beckham, when he was at LA Galaxy. Lets hope he doesnt if he does come over here.

My apologies to the MLS fans - my dislike for Real Madrid got the best of me there.
But, i've changed my mind about this whole Real Madrid affair over the last 48 hours......and watching "Goal II" kind of inspired this (go rent it if you haven't already) - Santiago Munez is my hero!
Real is obviously dreaming big here and I admire that. Much like Arsenal and Liverpool...and all the other teams out there mobilizing to take over that #1 spot.
Real is desperate and have taken desperate action. The young stars they are recruiting are feeling that sense of excitement again to bring back glory to the club that they've all probably dreamed of playing for while growing up. It's a good feeling and I can understand why CR is beginning to feel stale - he has (or he feels) he has brought the glory back to United and wants to relive that passion to do it again with Real.
Despite his tactics in carrying out this agenda, I think it's great career vision...if he can conquer the football world with Real within 2 or 3 years now, then maybe there is another team, or league, he can also help to win.
Hopefully (as I am a big CR card collector) we will all one day look back and say he did it at Man U, he did it at Real and he did it at ???....and so on. That would really make my collection priceless...as well as provide some great entertainment along the way.
