Mallorca coach Joaquin Caparros wants his team to emulate Celtic and defeat Barcelona in La Liga on Sunday.
The 57-year-old trainer is well aware his side will need a perfect performance to get anything from the game.
He warned his players that they will have to give their all to match what Celtic did in defeating Barcelona 2-1 in the Champions League on Thursday.
“We need to play the perfect game, both defensively and offensively, and that is always a big task. A good performance will not be enough, it has to be perfect,” Caparros told Mundo Deportivo.
“Celtic’s goalkeeper put in an outstanding performance in midweek, they then reached Barca’s area twice and scored twice, they were efficient and clinical. We need to do just that.”
Mallorca have several players unavailable for the match on Sunday but their coach will not be looking for excuses and says Barcelona will not be mentally effected by their Champions League defeat.
“Barca will not be thinking about previous results, their performance will not depend on the last game. Barca try to win every game and will not be brought down by what happened a few days ago.” Caparros said.
“Of course we have players injured but I will not blame bad luck. Mallorca are a unit and there are other talented players that can take the place of the ones that are currently injured.”
