Capello praises Rooney: He’s our crazy joker

England manager Fabio Capello has admitted he is delighted with striker Wayne Rooney’s form. The Manchester United man hit a double in yesterday’s 4-0 win over Slovakia at Wembley to bag the man-of-the-match award.

The Italian told the News of the World, “Wayne is the joker in our pack, perhaps the crazy joker! He can play anywhere and is so important to us.”

“Please God, Rooney stays fit. He can play up front on his own if we need him to because he is such a special player,” said Capello. He played very well and we can’t do without him.”
