Cardiff bid for Mame Biram Diouf

Cardiff City have submitted an official proposal for Hannover striker Mame Biram Diouf, the player’s employers have confirmed.

The Bundesliga side are hoping to offload the Senegalese after signing Artjoms Rudnevs on loan from Hamburg and it appears their wishes will be granted.

Cardiff City are ready to offer the striker an escape route from HDI Arena, with Hannover general manager Dirk Dufner confirming they had received an official offer.

“Yes, Cardiff have verbally made us an offer,” Dufner was quoted as saying in Bild.

The German newspaper has learned that the deal is worth around €3 million, which is almost double the amount they paid for the striker exactly two years ago.

Mame Biram Diouf has performed well since joining the club from Manchester United, having notched 23 goals in 50 Bundesliga appearances.

He has, however, decided to call it quits on his career in Germany and has been trying to engineer a move away from the club for quite a while.
