Carroll wants Newcastle return

A report from the Daily Star suggests that Andy Carroll wants a return to Newcastle United at the end of the Premier League season.

The 23-year-old is currently on loan from Liverpool at West Ham United, but it seems as though he is desperate to return to the North East in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers allowed the £35 million man to head to the Hammers back in August and it is thought that he does not have Carroll in his plans at Anfield.

The England striker is of course a very direct and old fashioned centre-forward that loves to hold the ball up and thrives on crosses being delivered in the box.

This does not look like being the style of play that Rodgers will play with the Reds though, so he is happy to let him leave, even if it means losing money on the forward.

Although he is enjoying his time at West Ham, the Geordie has a love for Newcastle and would love to put on the famous black and white jersey once more.

Magpies’ fans are likely to take him back and the club would be delighted if they can sign him on the cheap.
