Catania sign Sebastian Leto

Serie A side Catania have announced on their official website that they have reached an agreement to sign Panathinaikos forward Sebastian Leto.

The Argentine footballer arrives at Stadio Angelo Massimino on a free transfer, but the details of the deal were not disclosed.

Leto, 26, began his career at Lanus, but he left the club in the summer of 2007 to sign for Liverpool.

The Argentine spent one season on loan at Olympiakos as the Reds were trying to obtain a work permit for him, but was eventually sold to Panathinaikos in June 2009.

He enjoyed a lot of success at PAO, scoring 15 goals in 17 league matches during the 2011/2012 season, but a serious knee injury halted his progress and he then had his contract terminated in January 2013.

Leto has now been given a chance to revive his career with the Elephants and no doubt he will be a great signing for Catania, provided he has fully recovered from his knee problem.
