Cavani’s PSG future in doubt

Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani is still not ready to pledge his future to Paris Saint-Germain, according to L’Equipe.

The highly rated forward was finally given a chance to impress in a central role after Zlatan Ibrahimovic made a switch to Manchester United, and he has done even better than expected.

Cavani went on to score 15 goals in as many matches this season, so no wonder top European clubs are casting admiring glances his way.

Having been impressed with his performances, PSG chiefs are obviously desperate to keep hold of their star player, and they are currently in talks over a contract extension.

However, the Saints hope Cavani will accept a pay cut on his €9 million per season deal, which is the main reason why there has been no agreement between the two parties.

Considering that the 29-year-old has a contract until June 2018 at Parc des Princes, PSG will be in problems unless they quickly persuade the striker to pen a new deal.
